From helping with pet food and finding trusted temporary fosters to offering access to medical discounts and adoption services, we provide compassionate resources that help seniors keep their pets safe, healthy, and loved.
Compassionate Support for Seniors & Their Pets
Willow and Paw Animal Rescue began with five friend, a shared love for animals, and a collective background in the nonprofit sector. Having worked across various areas of community advocacy, social services, and animal rescue, we frequently saw a heartbreaking gap in our local support systems: seniors facing medical emergencies or life transitions with no safety net for their beloved pets.
We watched devoted pet owners delay critical hospital visits out of fear of leaving their companions behind. We also saw seniors heartbroken at the prospect of surrendering their pets to traditional, overcrowded shelters when independent care was no longer an option. The bond between seniors and their pets is incredibly profound, providing comfort, purpose, and unconditional love when it is needed most. We knew that protecting the senior meant protecting their pet as well.
Driven by our background in nonprofit management and our deep passion for animal welfare, we decided to step in. We founded Willow and Paw Animal Rescue to bridge this gap. Whether it is providing temporary foster care during a hospital stay or finding a gentle, loving forever home when a senior can no longer care for their animal. We are dedicated to ensuring peace of mind for our seniors and dignified transitions for their pets.
Providing
- Pet Food Assistance: Help with essential food and supplies when seniors are struggling to provide for their pets.
- Temporary Foster Care: Safe, loving foster homes for pets when their owners are hospitalized or temporarily unable to provide care.
- Medical Support: Access to veterinary care and medical discounts to help keep pets healthy and cared for.
- Adoption Services: Compassionate placement support when a senior can no longer care for their pet.
- Personalized Care Plans: Individualized support that considers each senior’s needs, their pet’s needs, and their circumstances.
- Foster Volunteer Support: Resources for foster volunteers, including assistance with food and eligible veterinary expenses.
- Donor-Supported Assistance: Community donations help make these services possible and ensure seniors and their pets receive support when they need it most.
